Yay!! It’s Caturday!!! Happy New Year Kitties!! I hope that you have all recovered from your Catini Celebrations to mark the close of 2015 and the start of an amazing 2016!
It has been a few weeks since the Volunteer Cat Crew got together for a day of fun and wisdom but we were all busy preparing for and celebrating Christmas with our loved ones. The four fabulous friends, Luna, Noah, Lucy and I love our time together! We share the same goals and values, and try to make the world a better place for us 4Foots and our carer 2Foots.
We are having an indoor day today! We are meeting up in Cold Minnesota, the land of 10,000 lakes! The land of cold and snowy winters and beautiful, sunny Summers. Today it is 16 degrees Fahrenheit outside with a wind chill of 5 degrees!!! Holy Mackeral!!! That’s chilly! We will stay warm by the fire, drinking warm Cocoa and eating tuna cookies! Yummy!!
We chatted about Christmas and the gifts we received. I thanked Luna for the beautiful Meowbox that she sent me. It was full of lots of special toys and treats! I was so excited and so grateful. I think Mumma sent my gift to her via Snail Mail because it has still has not arrived. Thankfully Luna is very understanding about that and is excited for it to arrive soon. I believe that everything happens in its own divine timing and it will reach her when it is meant to. The four fabulous friends all agreed that the best gift they all treasured this Christmas was the warmth of a loving family and the special bond of friendship that they have! They are a soul family united for the purr-pose of sharing love and helping others.
To celebrate our Happy New Year, we played a really fun game called ‘Gratitude with Catitude’. We sat in a circle and we each took it in turns to share something that we were grateful for in 2015. The idea of the game was that we would carry on stating our gratitude list until we ran out of things that we were grateful for, the kitty that kept on listing things the longest was the winner!! Needless to say, this ended up being a long game!!! The more we stated our gratitude the more excited and happy we became!!! Gratitude is like a catnip substitute! The more we express gratitude, the higher our vibration of positive energy, the higher the feel good factor!!! What a great way to get that cat nip high! There was no winner because we all managed kept our list going for a long time!
In playing our game, we also realized that sometimes there is hidden gratitude in what seem to be negative experiences. There is usually a positive lesson that can be learnt from our most challenging experiences; sometimes we just need to look a little harder to find it. As an example, just before Christmas Dadda accidently ran over my toe in his wheelchair. I screamed a kitty expletive at him and limped off in temper and fear. (Even us Motivational Meowers let our angelic halos slip occasionally!) Mumma quickly picked me up and gave me lots of love, snuggles and healing. She wanted to shout at Daddy but that would not change that it happened and she knew that Daddy felt awful about it! My foot was fine and life returned to normal. I am grateful for that experience as it taught me not to get too close to Daddy’s wheelchair!! See what I mean about positive lesson from the challenging experience! Kind of cool right!!
We took a break from our game to eat some lunch. A salmon, tuna and mackerel feast! Yummy! We were so grateful! There are some kitties that do not get such luxurious food! We appreciated what we were given!
2015 had been a great year!! We decided that we should set ourselves some goals for 2016!! We decide to make Kitty Vision Boards! We would cut pictures from old magazines or download them from the Internet to represent our goals and dreams for the coming year! The Volunteer Cat crew would continue their mission of helping others and spreading love and friendship. We all had different ideas about how we would do this.
Luna would like to purr-sue her dreams of being an International Meowdel. This way she could promote her inner beauty and humanitarian desire to make a huge difference in the world. She could be the face of Inspurration and Meowtivation for her Culture. Hopefully one day she would be the representative for Brazil at the International Miss Whiskers contest! With her beautiful heart, she would be sure to win!!
Noah is the social connector!! He loves to interact with people, sharing lots of love and happiness. He loves to connect people together and introduce new furiends! He is the Voice of love and happiness. His goal is to continue to spread joy to others!
Lucy is the peaceful observer amongst us. She is a watcher! She loves to watch others and use her innate wisdom to reflect and analyze. Her goal is to promote world peace and harmony. She will use her inner calm to inspire others.
Now Me! Tippy the Tipster! I will continue to promote disability awareness and disability acceptance to others! I will help 2Foots learn to accept those who are less fortunate as equal! I will continue to teach each others to love unconditionally!
What a great set of goals we all have!! Together, united we can make a difference in the World. No matter how small the steps are, every paw print we make is a huge step for kitty kind!
The Volunteer Cat Crew wish you a very Happy New Year! We hope that your 2016 is truly amazing! May your year be blessed with love, happiness, love and laughter. Set your goals, reflect your gratitude and be the best version of you in 2016 that you can be!! Meow!!!
Tippy love and kisses!!!
